Updated Davidson Study Abroad Funding Policy (3/26/2021)
Davidson's funding policy related to international travel: Davidson College observes the U.S. Department of State’s assessment of risk to travelers in determining approval for study abroad programs and travel funding. Travel to countries with U.S. Department of State level 4 advisory is not permitted. The college’s International Education Committee approves individual education abroad programs. As part of that approval process, the Office of Education Abroad and the committee will review each program’s COVID safety protocols as well as U.S. Department of State advisories by June 15 (for fall semester programs) and by November 1 (for winter and spring semester programs). Additionally, the committee may suspend approval of programs if members believe that a program is unable to support students adequately given ongoing risk factors.
Apply Now for Passport!
If you plan on applying for Winter or Spring 2022 and you do not have a passport or your passport will expire in the next year, you should apply now for a new passport. We anticipate longer processing times to receive passports and you must secure yours with enough time to apply for visas for your program country.
Spring 2022 Pre-Departure Orientation
Students planning to study abroad for the spring 2022 semester must attend this required Pre-Departure Orientation, held virtually via Zoom. Office of Education Abroad staff will review important information that you need to know before, during, and after your study abroad experience. Students will also have opportunities to ask questions.
